Texel, The Netherlands

We went camping in Texel for a night with Richard and Rianne. Texel is an island in The Netherlands full of green grass and white faced sheep! Eric and I were excited to spend time with our Dutchies since we hadn’t seen them all summer. Before we left the states we purchased a bunch of backpacking and camping gear hoping to hike and camp in the Alps. We really haven’t had a chance to use it yet so we were looking forward to trying some of our stuff out in Texel.

Once we got all of our stuff unloaded from the car, we hopped on our rental bikes and cruised the island. Texel’s has it’s own brewery, so we stopped there to have a taste.

Once we were done riding our bikes, we cooled off in the water!

It started to get late and we knew it was time for dinner. We got the grill going and cooked some chicken and steak skewers with some veggies. It tasted really good!

For dessert, we introduced Richard and Rianne to their first S’mores! They loved them! Granted we didn’t have graham crackers so we used Dutch digestives cookie. Our next trip to the states, we are going to bring some graham crackers back and show them the real version!
